Customs Union Reduces Import Customs Duties for Meat Products and Seafood

From 1 September 2013 the import duty for goat meat (except fresh or cooled carcasses and semi-carcasses) is to be reduced from 20% (but no less than EUR 0,2 per kilogram) to 17,5% (but no less than EUR 0,175 per kilogram).

Additionally, import duties are to be reduced for certain meat sub-products (cattle, pork, rabbit, etc.).

Import duty for fish liver and roe is to be reduced from 20% to 18%. Also, import duties are to be reduced for fish, shellfish and for some kinds of cheese.

The import duties were adjusted in order to fulfill Russia’s tariff obligations which are due to its WTO membership.
