Russia: Extended List of Controlled Narcotics, Psychotropic Substances and their Precursors

As of 15 August 2017, the list of controlled narcotic and psychoactive substances in Russia has been extended. Decree No. 903 of 29 July 2017 amended Decree No. 681 of 30 June 1998 that approved the list of controlled narcotic and psychotropic substances and their precursors.

The purpose of the amendments is to prevent unlawful handling of drugs and to improve the system of monitoring of turnover of narcotic and psychotropic substances in the Russian Federation.

The existing list of controlled substances has been extended by 15 additional psychoactive substances. Fourteen substances have been added to the list of narcotics and one has been added to the list of psychotropic substances.

The amendments also changed the identification of another two substances in order to take into consideration their derivatives.
