As of 2 November 2017 manufacturers and importers of wheeled transport vehicles that are to be placed on the market in Uzbekistan have to comply with the provisions of the adopted Technical Regulation.
General safety requirements include the requirement that any transport vehicles placed on the market in Uzbekistan must be suitable for the local climate.
In addition, the Technical Regulation prohibits the use of ozone depleting substances in the process of vehicle manufacture. The list of prohibited ODS is to be adopted separately by the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan.
The TR prohibits to manufacture transport vehicles with the use of second-hand components, except for vehicles manufactured for personal use individually.
It is also prohibited to place on the market in Uzbekistan any transport vehicles with a steering wheel located on the right side.
Conformity assessment of transport vehicles is to be performed by notified bodies accredited by the State Agency “Uzstandart”.
