Model Instruction for employees responsible for keeping cargo-lifting devices in working order

The Model Instruction applies to facilities operating cargo lifting equipment, such as cranes (tower cranes, bridge cranes, etc.). The Instruction imposes requirements on the qualification and knowledge of employees responsible for keeping cargo-lifting devices in working order. For example, such employees are required to know the requirements of certain regulations, such as the Rules of technical operation of electric devices (No. 1383, July 9, 2004), etc. Such employees are also required to know the requirements applicable to the operation of the relevant machinery imposed by the technical passports for such machinery, provided by the manufacturer.

The Instruction also outlines duties, rights and responsibilities of such employees. For example, they have the right to participate in the periodic inspection and repair of the relevant machinery (devices). They are required to ensure that all faults in the devices are remedied in a timely manner.

Some Measurement Devices are to be Regularly Calibrated and Tested

The list consists of 366 types of measurement devices and the frequency of calibration for each device. The list includes tachometers and speedometers (every 12 months), liquid petroleum product meters (every 12 months), gas meters (every 12 months), liquid level measurement devices (every 12 months), barometers (every 12 months), etc.
