Published draft Law on Major Hazard Facilities
Draft Law on Major Hazard Facilities has been sent for signature to the President of Belarus.
Draft Law would apply to operators of so-called “major hazard facilities”. These include those handling, generating or processing flammable gases, chlorine, etc. in quantities exceeding the set thresholds. Also, a facility would be a “major hazard” if it operates certain pressure equipment, industrial explosives in quantities exceeding the set thresholds, etc.
Operation of major hazard facilities requires a licence. Operators of MHFs would have to identify such facilities before putting them into operation and to have them registered in the special state registry.
