Manufacturers and importers of products intended for children and adolescents impacted by the amendments that enter into force on 25 September 2018 (leather goods, cutlery and crockery, toothbrushes, etc.) may place on the EAEU market all impacted products, provided that there are conformity assessment documents for these products that are valid and that were issued before the amendments enter into force (i.e. before 25 September 2018). All mentioned products released on the market before the expiration (invalidity) date of conformity assessment documents, may remain on the EAEU market until the expiration of their normal shelf life.
For 12 months from the date the amendments enter into force (i.e. until 24 September 2019), manufacturers and importers are allowed to manufacture and place on the EAEU market toothbrushes (including battery operated toothbrushes), gum massagers and other similar products intended for children older than 3 years, without conformity assessment documents and without the EAC mark. Such products can remain on the market during their normal shelf life. Currently, conformity assessment and EAC mark is only required for toothbrushes and similar oral care products intended for children aged 3 years and below.
