Three new draft Technical Regulations have been published for public discussion:
- Technical Regulation on Requirements for Energy Efficiency of Electrical Energy Consuming Devices;
- Technical Regulation on the Safety of Children Playground Equipment; and
- Technical Regulation on the Restriction of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment.
- Draft Technical Regulation on Requirements for Energy Efficiency of Electrical Energy Consuming Devices would apply to electrical electricity consuming devices which are to be placed on the Customs Union market and which are to be mass produced and which consume significant amount of electrical energy thus impacting the general energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions and energy safety in the Customs Union.
- Draft Technical Regulation on the Safety of Children's Playground Equipment would impose requirements applicable to equipment and covering used in children’s playgrounds, such as sports equipment and similar products.
- Draft Technical Regulation on the Restriction of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment has been developed taking into consideration the requirements of the European RoHS Directive and would set requirements aimed at the restriction of use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. The substances the use of which is to be restricted include mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, etc.
