As of 28 March 2018, organisations and individuals placing disinfection products on the Ukrainian market must follow the adopted revised procedure for the registration of such products.
The registration requirement applies to the disinfection products intended for:
- disinfection measures in hospitals and health care facilities;
- "cold" sterilization of medical products;
- hand disinfection for medical personnel;
- preventive disinfection of residential, industrial, educational, sanitary and other premises, buildings and structures, vehicles, catering and trade objects, territories of settlements, in places of public recreation and recreational zones;
- industrial disinfection;
- disinfectant washing and cleaning in residential and industrial properties;
- disinfection of air in premises, water (except for drinking water), industrial and domestic wastewater;
- destruction of carriers of pathogens of infectious diseases (insecticidal)
- destruction of synanthropic insects in the environment of human activity;
- insect repelling;
- extermination of rodents, which are sources and carriers of infectious agents;
- hand decontamination of food processing personnel;
- quality control of sterilization of medical devices;
- controlling the quality of the sterilization of medical devices.
The designated state agency responsible for state registration of disinfection products is the Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine.
