The Government has moved forward the date from which identification marking of footwear becomes mandatory from 1 March 2020 to 1 July 2020 by amending the rules for mandatory marking of footwear adopted by Decree No. 860 of 5 July 2019.
The amendments also add the definition of the “Operator of the national information marking system”. The Operator is defined as competent authorities of an EAEU member state that have been duly authorised to supervise and enforce mandatory marking of footwear.
The amendments clarify that the Operator has the power to provide marking codes which have to be used by footwear market participants in order to import footwear into the Russian Federation.
