As of 18 September 2023, manufacturers and importers of milk and dairy products have to comply with the revised provisions of the Technical Regulation on the Safety of Milk and Dairy Products (TR TS 033/2013).
The amendments revise a number of definitions and microbiological properties of some milk and dairy products.
For example, the amendments revise the definition of "reconstituted milk" which is to be defined as a dairy product, including enriched products, packaged in consumer packaging, or raw materials for the production of milk processing products, except for drinking milk, made from concentrated, or condensed, or powdered milk and water with or without addition of skimmed milk and/or cream for the purpose of its normalization.
The amendments also add a new definition of “concentrated, condensed by-product of milk processing". It is defined as a by-product of milk processing, produced by partial removal of water from it until the mass fraction of solids becomes no less than 16 percent.
The amendments also revise physical and microbiological parameters for fermented dairy products, cream, yoghurt and some other dairy products.
