The Federal Agency on Technical Regulation and Metrology (Rosstandart) has approved two national standards: GOST R 57443-2017 “Chemical product identification. General provisions” and GOST R 57444-2017 “Chemical product identification. Rules for performing laboratory testS.”
The adopted standards will significantly simplify the operation of chemical product manufacturers as they introduce the unified rules for confirming chemical composition and structure of manufactured chemical products.
The information obtained during product identification is to become the key information which is to be used for creation and maintenance of chemical product and chemical substances properties databases.
The provisions of the adopted standards are based on the approach stipulated in the recommendations of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) for the identification and naming of chemical substances in accordance with REACH and CLP principles.
The adopted standards would also simplify the procedure for Russian chemical products when they enter the world marked and decrease the cost of laboratory tests.
