Last month Russia has responded to the Western sanctions by imposing a one-year ban on all imports of certain types of food, such as meats, fish, milk and dairy, seafood, fruits and vegetables. The targeted exporting countries are the EU member states, the US, Australia, Canada and the Kingdom of Norway.
The detailed list of products subject to the ban was adopted by Governmental Decree No. 778 of 7 August 2014. The list was later amended to remove the ban on lactose-free milk, salmon and trout fry, seed potatoes, onion, hybrid sweet corn and nutritional supplements (biologically active supplements, vitamin mixtures, protein concentrates (both of plant or animal origin), food fibers and food additives.
