Starting from 1 January 2018 manufacturers and importers of products included into the revised list of products subject to the extended producer responsibility (EPR) obligations are obliged to comply with the utilisation targets set for such products and packaging or to pay the environmental charge.
The adopted list replaces the list adopted by Government Direction No. 1886-p dated 24 September 2015.
The adopted list includes 46 product groups and additional 8 packaging groups (54 groups in total). The previous list adopted by Government Direction No. 1886-p dated 24 September 2015 included 36 product groups.
As of 1 January 2018, all group numbers and structure have been changed. For example products that include “Computers and peripheral equipment as well as office equipment” are included into Group 32 (previously – into Group 24).
The overall list of products has not undergone any significant changes but products have been divided into a larger number of groups.
Product importers and manufacturers are recommended to review the revised list of products and identify whether any of their products are subject to the extended producer responsibility concept.
Law: Government Direction No. 2970-r of 28 December 2017 on Approval of the List of Finished Goods, Including Packaging that are Subject to Utilisation after the Loss of Their Consumer Properties.
