As of 16 April 2019, facilities emitting ambient noise must ensure that they do not cause the noise levels in any adjoining residential area to exceed the revised limits.
The adopted norms do not apply to special purpose premises (radio and television studios, etc.).
The actual noise level limits are listed in Annex 1 to the norms. The limits are set depending on the type of premises and the time of the day. For example, the noise levels in any single hospital room must not exceed 35dBA during the day and 25 dBA at night. The noise levels in an office must not exceed 50 dBA regardless of the time of day. The noise in residential premises must not exceed 40 dBA during the day and 30 dBA at night.
