Amended list of equipment which may be imported on preferential conditions

Starting from 25 October 2016, importers of some technological equipment are no longer entitled to the exemption from import duties and VAT on this equipment. The equipment includes caterpillar bulldozers, other shovel front loaders, other excavators, other full-turn machines, other types of machinery (TN VED / HS codes - 8429 11 009 0, 8429 51 990 0, 8429 52 100 9 8429 52 900 0).

Draft Technical Regulation on the safety of telecommunication equipment

Draft Technical Regulation (TR) on the safety of telecommunication equipment in Uzbekistan has been published.

The TR will impact manufacturers and importers of certain types of telecommunication equipment, including:

• Radio-telephony;
• Receiving and transmitting equipment;
• IT equipment;
• Electromechanical and electronic devices and equipment intended to be connected to computers;
• Antennae and feeder devices;
• Radioelectronic and television equipment; etc.

Draft TR imposes safety requirements on the mentioned products, including noise requirements, electromagnetic field requirements, mechanical and fire safety requirements as well as packaging and labelling requirements.

Draft Technical Regulation on the safety of telecommunication equipment in Uzbekistan has been adopted and agreed with all stakeholder ministries. It has also obtained an approval from the Expert Council of the Ministry of Information Technologies and Communications. It has now been submitted to the state standardization agency “Uzstandart” for consideration and will be submitted for approval to the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
