As of 11 October 2019, manufacturers and importers of domestic electrical appliances in Uzbekistan are required to provide energy efficiency labels for additional types of products. The list of products subject to energy efficiency labelling has been supplemented by the following items:
- central heating boilers, other than boilers in category 8402 (other) (HS code 8403 10 900 0);
- storage water heaters (capacitive) non-electric (8419 19 000 0); hoods or extractors, the largest horizontal size of which is not more than 120 cm. (8414 60 000 0);
- vacuum cleaners (8508 11 - 8508 60);
- household electromechanical machines with a built-in electric motor (8509 40 - 8509 80);
- light emitting diodes (LEDs), including laser diodes (8541 40 100 0);
- lamps and lighting equipment, other (9405 10 400 9);
- other devices intended for use with incandescent lamps (9405 40 910 9).
The original list of products subject to energy efficiency labelling in Uzbekistan includes refrigerators, dishwashers, washing machines, microwave ovens, ovens, electrical ovens, monitors, incandescent lamps, etc.
Energy efficiency class of domestic appliances is indicated by a capital Latin letter: «А», «В», «С», «D», «E», «F», «G» (where “A” is the highest level of energy efficiency). There are additional categories: «А+», «А++» and above (ascending energy efficiency level).
As of 1 January 2016, it is prohibited to import and as of 1 July 2016 – to sell any products from the above mentioned list in Uzbekistan (except for used devices and appliances) if they do not have energy efficiency labels specifying their energy efficiency class. Also, it is prohibited to sell lower EE class products: class “G” from 2017, class “F” – from 2018 and class “E” – from 2019.
