Ukraine: Dangerous imitations are to be withdrawn from the market

The Government has adopted Decree prohibiting sale of goods imitating foodstuffs (i.e. possessing a form, smell, colour, appearance, design, labelling, volume or size of foodstuffs) and posing a threat to the safety or health of consumers, including children, who may confuse these products with foodstuffs.

Ukraine: Revised version of RoHS Technical Regulation published

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the final text of the revised Technical Regulation on the Restriction of Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (the Ukrainian RoHS). The TR applies to all equipment listed in Annex 1 to the Technical Regulation.

Revised requirements for the issue of special water use permits

The adopted law amends the provisions regulating the issue of special water use permits. In particular, it revises the provisions setting out grounds for the termination of the right to use a water body, provisions on granting the right to an organization to perform special use of a water body, etc.

Ukraine: Environmental tax rates increase

As of 1 January 2017 facilities performing air emissions, disposing of hazardous wastes and/or discharging wastewater into water bodies in Ukraine are required to pay higher environmental fees for these operations.

In particular, the following environmental rates have been increased.

Ukraine: adopted national standards harmonised with EU standards

The Ukrainian standardisation center issued Order adopting a number of national standards of Ukraine harmonised with European Union standards. These standards relate to electromagnetic compatibility of different products, such as dishwashers, transformers, elevators, equipment and machinery, etc. The adopted Order repeals and replaces a number of national standards regulating the same issues.

The Order enters into force as of 1 January 2018.

 

Ukraine: Moratorium on state inspections extended until 31 December 2017

LawNo. 1728-VIII of 3 November 2016 extends the moratorium on scheduled state inspections of organisations by state authorities until 31 December 2017. The moratorium means that no organization is to be subject to any scheduled state inspection (e.g. checking compliance with environmental, occupational safety or another legislation). However, the moratorim does not apply to non-scheduled inspections of organisations.

Ukraine: draft Technical Regulation on Radio equipment published

The Draft Resolution approves the Technical Regulation of radio equipment as well as its implementation plan. 

The Draft TR sets out the basic legal framework for radio equipment that is placed or supplied to the Ukrainian market. It also sets out requirements pertaining to the use of radio equipment in Ukraine. This draft TR applies to all forms of supply and delivery, including online sale and distant selling of radio equipment.
