Russia: Revised lists of perfumery and cosmetics and other consumer products to which restrictions on the circulation of ethanol containing products do not apply
The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) has commenced work on creating a system that will allow the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) to exchange information on measures taken to prevent or limit the sale or use of products that pose a serious risk to the health and safety of consumers.
As of 18 July 2018, a revised regulation on conformity assessment modules (applied to certification, declaration and product registration) entered into force in the EAEU. The conformity assessment modules are to be applied by manufacturers, importers and persons authorised by manufacturers in order demonstrate product conformity with the requirements imposed by EAEU Technical Regulations.
Russia: Set basic principles of product ID marking system
Manufacturers and importers of certain types of products (e.g. clothing, perfumes, tobacco, etc.) will be required to ensure their products bear the necessary identification codes.
As of 1 July 2018 importers and manufacturers of products that require the issue of a conformity declaration have to follow the adopted procedure. The adopted procedure governs the registration, renewal, suspension and termination of conformity declarations that must be issued for products that are subject to the EAEU Technical Regulations (TRs). Such products include toys, electrical equipment, personal protective equipment, cosmetics, food and some other categories of products.
As of 1 January 2018, product, component and chemical importers are to use the revised version of the Product Nomenclature for External Economic Activity (TN VED which is equivalent to the HS code system) when importing goods or chemicals into Uzbekistan.
The new TN VED version (2017) is based on the revised HS Code system used by the World Customs Organisation.
