EAEU: Revised list of standards for perfumery and cosmetics

The EurAsian Economic Commission Board has updated the lists of standards the voluntary use of which ensures compliance with the EAEU Technical Regulation on the Safety of Perfumery and Cosmetic Products.

The list of standards has been supplemented by three new standards.

EAEU: Ecodesign requirements for energy-related products (ERPs)

EAEU has adopted Technical Regulation on Energy Efficiency of Energy-Consuming Devices (TR EAEU 048/2019) – the TR on Ecodesign. 

It is intended that the TR on Ecodesign enters into force some time in 2021 but not before 1 September 2021. 

The TR requires that equipment must have a device for controlling the power supply mode of at least one of the following types: 

Ukraine: List of Products Subject to Quotas and Licencing for 2021

As of 1 January 2021, organisations importing certain products and substances into Ukraine are required to obtain import licences and/or to observe the set importation quotas.

The list of products subject to export quotas includes precious metals (gold and silver) and scrap precious metals.

Uzbekistan: Amended Regulation on Mobile Device Registration

The Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan adopted Resolution No. 828 of 31.12.2020 "On Amendments and Additions to the Regulation on the Procedure for Registration of Mobile Devices Used, Imported and Manufactured for Sale or Personal Use in the Republic of Uzbekistan".

Belarus: Adopted procedure for handling unsafe products

As of 27 January 2021, importers, sellers and manufacturers of unsafe products are required to follow the adopted procedure regulating management and handling of such products.

Products can be declared unsafe by the competent authorities based on test results or following a visual inspection of the products.

Kazakhstan: Revised waste management rules

As of 28 December 2020, facilities generating wastes and performing waste management operations are required to comply with the revised set of waste management rules.

Kazakhstan: Adopted rules for maintaining the Registry of Prohibited Substances

As of 20 December 2020, the revised rules for maintaining the Kazakhstan Registry of Prohibited Substances start to apply.

The Rules provide that the competent authority responsible for creating and maintaining the Registry is the "Committee for Sanitary and Epidemiological Control of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan".

Kazakhstan: Rules for the importation, production and distribution of non-iodised salt

As of 3 December 2020, importers, manufacturers and distributors of non-iodised salt are required to comply with the adopted set of rules. The rules restrict the use of non-iodised salt with the purpose of prevention of iodine deficiency in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
