Uzbekistan: Adopted procedure for drilling groundwater wells

A permit to drill a groundwater well is to be issued to organisations that perform such drilling and have the necessary technical capacity and sufficiently qualified personnel.

 In order to apply for a permit, the applicant must submit a permit application to the local hydro-geological station.  A permit is to be issued for each well separately.

Ukraine: Adopted Law on Environmental Impact Assessment

As of 18 December 2017, organisations planning any activity that is capable to significantly impact the environment, are required to perform an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) subject to the requirements imposed by Law adopted on 23 May 2017.

Ukraine: Increasing penalties for breaches of food and feedstuffs safety legislation

As of 4 April 2018 food and feedstuffs manufacturers and suppliers (including importers) are required to comply with the adopted law on enforcement of safety legislation applicable to these products.

The adopted law regulates state supervision measures that are to be taken in a form of audits, inspections, sample taking, laboratory tests and analysis, visual inspection and documentary inspection.

Russia: Certification of radiators and convectors becomes compulsory

As of 27 June 2018 manufacturers and importers of heating radiators, heating convectors are required to perform certification of such radiators and convectors.

As of 27 December 2018 manufacturers and importers of heating insulation materials and construction mixtures and solutions are required to issue a declaration of conformity for their products.

Russia: Contraindications to work on marine and inland vessels

The adopted Decree lists medical conditions that would disqualify a person from working marine, inland and mixed (river-sea) vessels. The list includes over 100 medical conditions, such as eyesight lower than 0,5 in either eye, stuttering, heart implants or transplants, glaucoma, certain lung diseases, etc.

Russia: Adopted lean production recommendations

Manufacturers are recommended to apply the lean manufacturing principles in accordance with the guidance issued by the Ministry of Trade and Industry of the Russian Federation (MinPromTorg). 

The adopted guidance may be used by any organization operating in any industry sector if such an organization has decided to improve its efficiency by implementing lean manufacturing management system.

Russia: Adopted procedure for pre-route inspections of transport vehicles

As of 24 December 2017, organisations performing road transportation by vehicles or by overground electrical transport vehicles are required to organize pre-route inspections of vehicles they operate. The purpose of pre-route inspections is to exclude the possibility of a faulty vehicle being allowed on the road.

Russia: Adopted rules for the safe operation and maintenance of lifts, lifting platforms, travellators and escalators

As of 30 August 2017, owners and/or operators of passenger lifts (elevators), lifting platforms for disabled persons, travellators (moving pedestrian pavements) and escalators (the Equipment) are required to comply with the adopted safety rules. The Rules do not apply to non-passenger lifts, lifts operated in mines or on ships, aircrafts or special military purpose lifts.
