Belarus: Description and Application of the National Conformity Mark
As of 30 July 2017, the national Belarusian conformity mark is to be applied in accordance with the revised procedure.
The manufacturer, its authorised representative or the seller is required to affix the national mark of conformity. The dimensions of the mark are to be determined by the manufacturer, its authorised representative or the seller (i.e. the entity authorised to affix the mark).
Ukraine: Adopted Technical Regulation on Energy Efficiency Labelling of Air Conditioners
On 24 May 2017 Decree No. 360 of the Cabinet of Ministers approved Technical Regulation (TR) on energy labelling of air conditioners.
The TR has been drafted on the basis of the EU Regulation 626/2011 which implements EU Directive 2010/30/EU on labelling for energy-related products.
Russia: Increased administrative liability for breaches of fire safety requirements
As of 9 June 2017 organisations that do not duly comply, for the second time, with directions issued by fire safety inspectors may be subject to a suspension of their activity for a period not exceeding 90 days. Currently, this offence only results in a financial penalty.
Russia: Clarification on medical examination requirement for employees
Federal Labour and Occupation Service (RosTrud) has published a clarification on the necessity of organizing a preliminary and subsequent regular medical examinations for employees.
Medical examinations are regulated by Order No. 302n that also lists types of working conditions and occupational exposure that are considered as harmful or hazardous.
Russia: Revised occupational safety rules for working with certain hazardous chemicals
As of 27 August 2017 organisations using in their production process any non-organic acids and alkaline, mercury, plastic, epoxy resins, carcinogens, mutagens, benzene and liquid nitrogen are required to comply with a consolidated set of occupational safety rules.
Ukraine: Published draft Law on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE)
Draft law on waste electric and electronic equipment was published on 24 May 2017.
If the law (WEEE Law) is adopted by the Parliament (expected in 2017), it would affect manufacturers and distributors of electrical and electronic equipment (EEE).
Ukraine: Adopted Technical Regulation on Energy Labelling of Televisions
Manufacturers and importers of television sets will be required to provide consumers with information on energy consumption characteristics of such television sets, when the adopted Technical Regulation (TR) enters into force. It is intended that TR will enter into force six months after its official publication.
Ukraine: Published Radio-Electronic Equipment Technical Regulation
As of 1 April 2018 manufacturers and importers of radio-electronic equipment will be required to comply with the adopted Technical Regulation (RE-TR).
Uzbekistan: Technical Regulation on Electromagnetic Compatibility entered into force
As of 30 May 2017, manufacturers and importers of certain types of electrical and electronic equipment (including ICT equipment and domestic appliances) have to comply with the adopted electromagnetic compatibility requirements.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan adopted Decree No. 389 approving Technical Regulation on Electromagnetic Compatibility (the EMC TR) on 21 November 2016.
