Draft law aims to amend food safety requirements in Belarus

Draft law would strengthen the measures aimed at ensuring quality and safety of foodstuffs. It would clarify food labelling requirements as well as consumer information requirements.  It would also set out separate requirements for the labelling of biologically active additives and specialized sport food. 

Uzbekistan: adopted footwear safety technical regulation

As of June 2017 (the exact date is not yet known) footwear (shoe, etc.) manufacturers and importers are required to comply with the adopted Technical Regulation on footwear safety in Uzbekistan. When the TR enters into force, all other regulatory instruments containing footwear safety requirement will remain in force but only in parts that do not contradict the provisions of the adopted TR.

Adopted licensing requirements for facilities performing fire-protection works

Facilities performing fire protection works, such as service and repair and service of automatic fire fighting installations (foam, powder, aerosol, water, etc.), fire alarm systems, evacuation systems, smoke protection systems, etc., are required to comply with the adopted requirements. These requirements relate to the minimum qualification of service personnel as well as organizational and technical requirements.

Tajikistan: Law on Safety of Toys enters into force on 24 February 2017

As of 24 February 2017 all toys placed on the market in Tajikistan are subject to certification procedure in accordance with the adopted Technical Regulation.

The Technical Regulation applies to products designed or intended, whether or not exclusively, for use in play by children under 14 years of age, subject to exemptions listed in Annex 1.

Amended rules for importing pharmaceuticals into Russia

According to the amendment, all pharmaceuticals (both registered and not registered in Russia) may be imported into Russia without a permit (issued by the Ministry of Healthcare), provided that they are intended to be used for private purposes by individuals arriving into Russia.
