Armenia becomes a member of the Eurasian Economic Community

As of 2 January 2015 Armenia has become a full member of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU).  Armenia is now the fourth member of the EEU, together with Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia.

As a result of joining the Eurasian Economic Union, Armenia gets fully involved into the Eurasian project which aims to form the following four freedoms: free movement of goods, services, capital and labour force.

The Armenian share in customs duties will amount to 1.13 percent, while the share of Belarus is to be reduced from 4.7 percent to 4.65, that of Kazakhstan from 7.3 percent to 7.25, and Russia’s from 88 percent to 86.97.
