Import of goods from outside of the Customs Union should not be suspended for formal reasons only

From 24 to 26 October 2012 the Department of Sanitary, Phytosanitary and Veterinary Measures of the Euro-Asian Economic Commission (EAEC) considered, at its working group meeting, the issues regarding the agreement on two-party veterinary certificates of the European Union and of the Customs Union. The meeting adopted an amendment to the Common Veterinary Requirements pertaining to products subject to the veterinary control (supervision).

Draft two-party veterinary certificates “Canada-Customs Union” were also approved at the meeting.

Decision No. 726 of the Customs Union Commission provides that the Customs Union may approve veterinary certificates which are different to the Common Form of veterinary certificates adopted by the Customs Union.
