Parcels sent by post from abroad get stuck at the Russian border

In the late 2012 the Federal Customs Service decided to increase control measures over parcels sent to Russia from abroad. The officials reckon that small parcels have become a popular channel for sending prohibited enclosures.

Before December 2012, only 30% of information from each foreign parcel was recorded by the “Russian Post” employees. As of December 2012, all information on parcels must be recorded, including their reference numbers, addresses and phone numbers of addressees and the senders.
