Road traffic rules adopted

A revised version of the Road Traffic Rules of Uzbekistan has been adopted and enters into force 1 March 2016.

The Rules impose, among other things road traffic requirements (e.g. passing crossroads, overtaking, transportation of goods, etc.), vehicle marking requirements (including vehicles transporting dangerous goods), road signs, etc.

Labelling of vehicles transporting dangerous goods and dangerous goods classification is regulated by Annex 4 to the Rules. Warning and hazard pictograms prescribed by the Rules are not in line with the GHS requirements.

Adopted Procedure for the Certification of Management Systems

The procedure applies to organisations that intend to certify their management systems. Certification is to be performed by a specially accredited organization. The procedure enters into force on 25 April 2016.

Adopted Customs Code of Uzbekistan

As of 21 April 2016 all import, export and other operations and activities have to be performed pursuant to the new Customs Code of Uzbekistan.
