In May 2019 Uzbekistan ratified the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants that aims to eliminate or restrict the production and use of persistent organic pollutants.
Starting from 12 April 2021, manufacturers and importers of packaged (bottled) drinking water in Uzbekistan are required to comply with the provisions of the adopted Technical Regulation on the Safety of Drinking Water in Uzbekistan.
The adopted TR applies to natural mineral water (table, treatment, medical-table, naturally gaseous), processed and natural drinking water as well as water intended for children.

The Regulation was approved on the registration procedure for mobile devices used, imported and produced both for sale or personal use in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan (PKM dated September 17, 2019 No. 778).
The system of voluntary eco-labeling of products is to be introduced as of January 1, 2020. It is based on the requirements of international standards. National standards for food, chemical, construction, textile, oil and gas and engineering industries will be developed during 2019-2022.
Stockholm Convention (the POPs Convention) is an international treaty that sets out a set of measures aimed at restriction or prohibition of POPs emissions as a result of their intentional or non-intentional use. The aim of the treaty is to protect human health and the environment from the negative impact of persistent organic pollutants.
Amendments to the current criminal procedure legislation that would introduce the concept of corporate liability have been presented for public discussion. The amendments are a part of the overall Concept of Criminal and Criminal Procedure Legislation Improvement and aim to improve the efficiency of the existing criminal law of Uzbekistan.
As of 1 January 2018, product, component and chemical importers are to use the revised version of the Product Nomenclature for External Economic Activity (TN VED which is equivalent to the HS code system) when importing goods or chemicals into Uzbekistan.
The new TN VED version (2017) is based on the revised HS Code system used by the World Customs Organisation.
On 23 January 2018 Technical Regulation on the Safety of Meat was published. The TR starts to apply 18 months after the date of its publication. The TR applies to meat and meat products in general.

As of 13 April 2018, importers of ozone depleting substances (ODS) into Uzbekistan have to comply with the revised procedure for the importation of such substances.
The revised procedure was adopted by Decree No. 17 of the Cabinet of Ministers dated 9 January 2018.
