EAEU: Amended standards for the Technical Regulation on the Safety of Toys

As of 28 October 2017, manufacturers and importers of toys into the EAEU are required to use the revised list of standards that ensure presumption of conformity with the Technical Regulation on the Safety of Toys, TR TS 008/2011 (the TR). They also have to comply with the list of compulsory standards for this TR that contain testing rules and methods.

Ukraine: Adopted occupational safety rules for temporary and mobile construction sites

Project owners, construction site managers, general contractors, contractors, subcontractors and self-employed persons will be required to comply with the occupational safety rules applicable to temporary and mobile construction sites. The requirements are to enter into force from the date of its official publication. As at 14 October 2017, the requirements have not been published yet.

Uzbekistan: Adopted Technical Regulation on the Safety of Lifts

As of 7 April 2018, lift owners, manufacturers and operators in Uzbekistan will be required to comply with the adopted set of safety requirements for lifts. The requirements apply to hydraulic and electrical lifts with the loading capacity of 40 kg and more, except the following lifts:

• those with rack-and-pinion or screw lifting mechanism,

Russia: Adopted plan for the fulfillment of obligations under the POPs Convention

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology (MinPrirody) has published the plan of measures aimed at the fulfillment by the Russian Federation of its obligations under the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants (the POPs Convention).  The POPs Convention aims to eliminate or restrict manufacturer and use of persistent organic pollutants (POPs).
