Ukraine: Adopted ecodesign requirements for some types of room heaters

As of 6 May 2021, manufacturers and importers of room heaters, combined heaters, combinations of space heaters, temperature regulators and solar installations as well as of combinations of combined heater, temperature regulators and solar installations are required to comply with the ecodesign requirements and energy efficiency labelling of such heaters.

EAEU: Adopted list of testing methods for disinfectants (biocidal products)

On 8 December 2020, the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission made changes to the Unified Sanitary and Epidemiological and Hygienic Requirements for Products Subject to Sanitary and Epidemiological Supervision. The document is supplemented with a list of methods that are to be used for evaluating the effectiveness of disinfectants and biocides that are to be placed on the EAEU (Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan) market.

Ukraine: Amended Technical Regulation on Automotive, Diesel, Marine and Boiler Fuel

The Cabinet of Ministers, by decree of 09/23/2020 N 967, amended the Technical Regulations on the requirements for motor gasoline, diesel, marine and boiler fuel.

In particular, the list of fuels that are not subject to the requirements of this Technical Regulation has been extended.

Thus, it was determined that the requirements of the Technical Regulations also do not apply to:

Ukraine: Revised Maximum Levels of Certain Contaminants in Food

As of 4 February 2021, food manufacturers and importers that the concentration levels of certain contaminating substances in food do not exceed the revised limits.

The revised limits were adopted by Order № 1238 of 22 May 2020 on Amendments to the State Hygienic Rules and Norms "Regulation on Maximum Levels of Certain Contaminants in Food Products". This Order amends the Ministry of Health Order № 368 of 13 May 2013 on the Approval of State Hygienic Rules and Norms.

Russia: Revised Procedure for Emergency Response Plans

As of 1 January 2021, organisations operating major hazard facilities are to develop the emergency response plans, required by the law, in accordance with a revised procedure. The adoption of the revised procedure will not impact the existing emergency response plans which are to remain valid and are to be revised only in cases, provided by the revised procedure.

Russia: Updated Environmental Pollution Fee Rates

As of 2021 organisations that operate stationary emission sources and/or discharge wastewater into water bodies and/or generate wastes and perform waste disposal operations are required to pay environmental pollution fees subject to the revised rates.

As of 2021, the environmental pollution fee rates are to be paid following the respective rates set for 2018 by Decree 913 of 13 September 2016 with the application of the coefficient that is equal 1.08.
